When landing in the sofa at Matlai it was a pleasure reading the menu. Here they have something different. Tuna variation for instance. And the tuna on Zanzibar- you cannot ask for better. Had to get that one. In came raw fresh tuna slices covered with the sweet, mild Zanzibar black pepper and fresh ginger. More on the plate was two tuna balls with different refreshing fillings. One with cucumber and lemongrass, and the other with lime and herbs. Not that much but enough if you want something special. I was happy with my choice.
My friend had a seafood salad that was asking for more flavors- quite blank. However the presentation and the quality of the seafood was excellent. My other more conservative friend had chicken and French fries. Nothing special even though we other was somewhat jealous of his sauce.
The biggest advantage of this cozy restaurant is that hardly any people come here, and it is straight on the beach with wind and waves. The restaurant is somewhat gloomy- which often is the case under the palm leaf roofs. However you can sit in the sofa if you want.
